Razzle Dazzle

Dazzle camouflage has been used extensively throughout the portfolio of Death Spray Custom, a one-man paint house based in the United Kingdom. Originally instigated by artist Sir Norman Wilkinson CBE during World War 1, it’s primary purpose was confusion rather than concealment.

It’s a fitting application by DSC, who has now plied his intensely graphic style on everything from axes to Cinelli RAM 2 bars to a Ducati 1026 to helmets to chairs and jerry cans. He has exhibited before, but this latest creation is destined for an upcoming show which will profile a showcase of his eye-searing work.

The Route

The Continental Divide Trail 2,700 miles, and Dallas to Deming, NM 750 miles. Take a look at some pictures of the complete route: http://tourdivide.org/photos

Bikepacking setups

These are setups for lightweight bikepacking trips. I'm taking more equipment, so my goal is to do the trail in 60 days. The record for the Continental Divide Trail is 17.5 days with a total of 2,700+ miles. This is an insane record of endurance...16 - 17 hours a day at about 150 miles a day. 220,000' of elevation gain on the trail with one pass over 10,000'.

Countdown

Getting ready for my epic bike trip. Feeling good about my health now, but still have one more doctors appointment on Wednesday. I think I'm ready for 75 to 100 miles a day, but won't know until I try it. I'm sure I'm going to feel the miles, but with anything, I just need to move forward. The weather has been really bad the last 36 hours with massive thunderstorms and hail. The wildfires in western Texas and New Mexico could prove to be a problem, but I have time.
